Circle of Parents | Virtual Support for Parents & Caregivers @ Zoom

Circle of Parents® groups offer a safe, friendly, confidential, non-judgmental, supportive environment to share with and learn from other parents. It’s a place where anyone in a parenting role can openly celebrate success, address challenges, find information and resources to support raising children. Offered ONLINE & by PHONE!

One thing we know during this time of uncertainty and isolation is it is important to support each other. We are all going through this together.

Join us for a weekly peer networking group to provide support to each other.

Every Monday at 4:00pm

We will meet on Zoom, which can be accessed through your computer or phone.

LENA Start | Free PPLD Series on How Talk Builds Babies’ Brains (Tuesdays)
May 11 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

LENA Start is a FREE 10-week program for parents and caregivers of children ages 0-32 months. At weekly Zoom sessions, parents and caregivers will learn how talk builds babies’ brains and how to increase conversational turns with their babies and toddlers. As part of this program, parents receive 10 free books, incentives, and more! Registration is required. Our next two sessions are:

  • Tuesdays from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. starting March 30 – June 1, 2021
  • Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. starting April 1 – June 3, 2021

We will have an additional two sessions during the summer.

  • Tuesdays from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. starting June 15 – August 17, 2021
  • Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. starting June 17 – August 19, 2021

Registration for the summer sessions will open May 1.

Sibling Rivalry | Free Parenting Class @ Online via Zoom

Free Prenatal Series | PPLD @ Online via Zoom
May 12 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm

PPLD and Nurse Family Partnership are partnering to present this 6-week series that invites expecting parents to attend to learn about topics related to pregnancy, labor & delivery, and the first six weeks following birth. Each week features a different topic. Community professionals present information and are available to answer questions.

The Prenatal sessions take place on Zoom on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. starting April 7, 2021. Presenters are available from 1 – 1:30 p.m. to answer additional questions.

To learn more about the series and the individual sessions, please visit ppld.org/whats-new/prenatal-series. Registration is required; however, each session has an individual registration so expecting and new parents can select the topics that most interest them.

  • April 7: Birthing Plan, Labor, Delivery, & the First Week
    Covering birth plans and alternatives to medicines, we will discuss medications you may encounter in the hospital, the first week after birth, what happens in the hospital, and more!
  • April 14: Postpartum – Postpartum & the First Six Weeks
    Wonder what life will be like the first six weeks after your baby is born? We will discuss healing, rest, and mental health in postpartum.
  • April 21: Sleep & Self-Care
    Having trouble getting enough rest? Learn techniques to help you and your newborn rest. We will also talk about Purple Crying Period and tools to help calm your baby. Learn different meditation strategies, so you can take care of yourself, too! Our friends at Peak Vista will share information about their First Visitor program.
  • April 28: Breastfeeding Part 1
    We will cover breastfeeding how-to’s, nutrition, and more!
  • May 5: Breastfeeding Part 2
    Part 2 will cover breastfeeding support, latching, and education.
  • May 12: Early Literacy & Prenatal Yoga
    Learn about brain development and the five early literacy practices to begin at birth. We also want to help you take care of yourself. Learn prenatal and postnatal yoga from a certified yoga instructor.

Mothering Together | Mindful Springs Counseling @ Beginnings Birth Center

Are you looking for an opportunity to join other mothers and share in the challenges along with  the joys of navigating motherhood? This free group will feature a supportive topic each week that will focus on the adjustments of being pregnant or after becoming a parent. The focus will be to offer community support around the pleasures and difficulties in this season of life as facilitated by one of our therapists who is trained in maternal mental health. Babies and children are welcome.

Mindful Springs’ Perinatal Wellness Center will be expanding its offerings in the fall of 2019:
  • Fee for service psycho-educational pregnancy group
  • Monthly dads/family event to correspond with the free moms group
  • Fee for service psycho-therapy post-partum group.
  • Fee for service psychotherapy group for women healing from pregnancy loss and infertility
  • Monthly fee for service and free workshops, yoga classes, and other stress management classes/ resources
