The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. Visit NAEYC.org/events/woyc.
During this week, Alliance for Kids will be sharing ideas and information around daily themes of Music, Food, Working Together, the Arts, and Family. You can find all of this information and more on the NAEYC website. We encourage you to participate and share how you engaged your kids and families in the fun! We’ve provided information below to get you started. Be sure to like our Facebook page for access to more during the Week of the Young Child!
FREE Family Friday Event @ the East Library
Community Reading with the Switchbacks Soccer Team
April 20 | 11:15 am – 12:15 pm
Join Alliance for Kids, the Pikes Peak Library District, and the Colorado Springs Switchbacks, our local professional soccer team, in celebrating Week of the Young Child with a Family Friday Event! We will be celebrating young children and their families by hosting a community reading event at the East Library (5550 N Union Blvd). No RSVP or registration needed.
- Join us for crafts and a story time with Ziggy, the Switchbacks mascot.
- Families receive a free book!
- Door prizes, including free tickets to a Switchbacks game and learning materials for your young children!
